Barry Ferguson says nephew Lewis would consider Celtic move

Despite being no rumours linking Lewis Ferguson to Celtic, Barry Ferguson has said that his nephew Lewis, who is one of Aberdeen’s best young players, would consider a move to Neil Lennon’s side if it ever came about.

The Kelty Hearts manager was asked on PLZ Soccer if his nephew would want to move to Parkhead or if his family ties to Ibrox were too great.

“Of course he would consider it. It’s a big club.”

“Would I talk to him again? I’d need to think about that!

“He’s the type of boy that it wouldn’t faze him. It wouldn’t bother him about his dad playing at Rangers and obviously his uncle playing for Rangers.

“If it was the right fit for him, Lewis has got to look out for his own future so if Celtic came in I think he would have to consider it.”

Lewis’ dad Derek and Uncle Barry were both players at Ibrox and it almost seems inevitable that he will end up there too. Not too mention the fact that he probably isn’t anywhere near Celtic’s midfield.

The 20-year-old joined Aberdeen from Hamilton Accies and has excelled under Derek McInnes. This season, Ferguson has found the net 3 times and laid off nine assists in 38 appearances for the Dons.
