Bears boasting about spending beyond their means – Will they never learn?

The Rangers once again boasting about spending beyond their means, when will they ever learn or be taken to task?…

Our Glasgow rivals The Rangers, despite sitting in second place are crowing about spending yet more cash in their pursuit of success.

Despite splashing the cash in both the summer and winter windows, they still find themselves short of top spot, and having crashed out of the Scottish Cup to a depleted Celtic side, Danny Rohl’s side still face the possibility of finishing the campaign empty handed.

That hasn’t stopped Ibrox CEO Andrew Cavenagh shouting from the rooftops about indulging on a summer spending spree, despite a negative balance sheet, something that could well come back to bite them badly.

Cavenagh and his fellow Stateside investors aren’t talking about investing from their own pockets, but are going to finance their spending splurge by raising yet more funds in the form of a share issue. So much for the Yanks having a pile of never ending riches at the disposal of the 2012 founded enterprise.

Ever since their founding father Green bought Ibrox and bought the titles this new Rangers has thrown cash in the pursuit of success, misguided in their collective belief that they belonged at the top of the Scottish footballing tree.

To get where they are today they spent heavily on transfer fees and salaries, a number which is estimated to in the hundreds of millions over the past 14 years as they look to make their name on the Scottish footballing scene.

Since Charlie Green got the show on the road the club he created has spent in excess of £100 million on transfer fees and wages in their pursuit of glory, only to have succeeded in winning three major honours. That’s despite having a negative net spend, and going deeper and deeper into debt with literally no profit to show for it along the way.

Isn’t that going against the games rules? FFP anyone? And if so, when will they be taken to task?

Another chance to remind any lurking Rangers fans of this…

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.

  1. Spending money upon players, is always going to be a topic within Scottish football.

If a value for money team was drawn up for this season, then ourselves as a club, could contribute Nygren. Maybe even Seb at a push. But overall we couldn’t contribute to much to such a team sadly imo?

Even with a loan market team, made up, we couldn’t contribute to much either imo?
This despite the amount of loans we have had, which is a popular market for many Scottish teams, with finances not readily available to themselves.

There’s no denying that our recruitment of players has been nowhere near the standards, we are looking for and expecting for ourselves anyway.
Yet, can the scum be making any bigger claims, despite the amount invested into their own team?
    Don’t think so myself?

Despite the amount of investment, has the player trading model actually grown?
Still believe that ourselves has more available within our own playing trading model, despite the massive drop off in form, within many of our own players.

This along with the amount of injuries, to key players, throughout this season. And only confirms the levels of our drop off, to make everyone else within Scottish football relevant this season.

Even so, will be expecting a big spending spree over the summer window, which is required for ourselves.
But, what this season has already shown, is that spending big money in Scottish football, hardly guarantees success either?
Only have to look at the scum to confirm that imo?

  2. The ONLY truth Mr Whyte told in the original club’s pre liquidation year was that the new club would hemorrhage £10m per season, so it has proven…….
