Anthony Ralston has won more medals and more caps than the Rangers Hall of Famer James Tavernier. Let that sink in mocking Bears…
Celtic and Scotland full back Anthony Ralston has become something of a poster boy for mediocrity in the eyes of rival supporters, and sadly some of our own supporters too.
Anthony who at the weekend won his 25th cap for Scotland, is regularly lambasted and poked fun at by a large majority of supporters, with the biggest percentage of those guilty of degrading Ralston being those who follow the latest club playing out of Ibrox.
That, I suppose, is part and parcel of football, especially when it comes to footballers who play for your biggest rivals, it can be construed as banter and that fin so long as it doesn’t overstep the mark.

Anthony Ralston, for all his faults is still a Celtic player, and we should defend him at all costs, not join in the ridiculing of one of our own. Ronny Deila gave him his debut, Brendan Rodgers gave him starts in both his spells as manager. He played under Neil Lennon and Ange Postecoglou too and even Wilfried Nancy had him in his teams. So too has Steve Clarke the Scotland manager.
For all those who are having a laugh at Tony’s expense, in particular the blue nosed half of Glasgow, here’s a little facts that they should consider before reloading more ammunition to hit the Celtic right-back with more ridiculing.

Since making his senior debut in 2016, Raldo has made a grand total of 138 appearances for Celtic scoring nine goals, and winning a whopping 14 honours in that period, despite never being something of a first team regular.
Contrast that to his rival right back across the city, James Tavernier who joined the Rangers a year before Ralston made his senior debut, and it’s night and day. The Rangers skipper James Tavernier has in that time collected just three major trophies, yes just three, and what’s more, he’s regarded as an Ibrox legend which is illustrated in his hall of fame status.

Anthony Ralston may be a player who’s punching above his weight at club and international level, but his grit and determination have earned him an impressive haul of trophies, contrast that record to Ibrox hall of famer ‘Tav’, the ‘Mr Disappointed’ of Scottish football.
Just an Ordinary Bhoy

You are still covering up the fact that ralston, started the season as a 2nd choice RB for ourselves, at the start of this season.
Yet now, he has slipped down to a 4th choice in the position.
However, this weekend, there’s a good chance that he will possibly be starting in the RB position now, by the looks of things imo?
Everything points to a very uncertain future for ralston, with ourselves, over the summer period.
Before then, he potentially has the opportunity, to show he is still worthy of a Scottish world cup squad place?
Personally, disappointed for the massive drop off in form, regarding ralston. Has Taylor leaving had a bigger impact than expected upon himself?
Regardless, still have confidence ralston won’t let us down this weekend if selected, all the same imo?
In my opinion Anthony Ralston has never let us down, he has probably been a little over eager when he has been given a chance as he wants to do so well cannot fault him for that as some of the players brought in could be doing with being more eager HH Tony and I hope you gain a cap in the states as you will join a very select “club”
