Benfica are in talks with Manchester United over a deal for reported Celtic target, Tyrell Malacia, according to reports in Portugal…

The Red Devils fullback has only returned from a long spell on the sidelines through injury, but it’s thought that the young Dutchman is highly sought after this window.
Celtic has of course had to sound out alternatives to Arsenal star Kieran Tierney, after Mikel Arteta refused to let him leave early following his pre-contract agreement with the Scottish side. The Hoops had wanted to thrash out a loan deal with his club so that they could have him for the second part of the season before his move back home in the summertime.

Negotiations with Arsenal have stalled
That seems to have hit the wall now that Arsenal want to keep him for their assault on their Premier League title this year as they hunt down Arne Slot’s Liverpool team. Malacia’s name had been mentioned as one that was under consideration by the Parkhead club, by Stephen McGowan of the Scottish Daily Mail, now that Tierney appears to be set to stay in London for now.

The left-back won’t be available for long but if the report by Record is anything to go by. The Portuguese publication have claimed that Benfica are currently in talks with Manchester United over a move to bring Malacia to the The Eagles this winter. It also revealed that the Holland international is the club’s number one target for the left-back spot the want to fill.
Celtic will have to move quickly if it’s Malacia they want.
