Bhoys Go ‘Back to Work’ – ‘Anyone new?’ asks a fan, ‘New cleaner, and possibly a different security guard…’

CELTIC players reported back to Lennoxtown today to begin their pre-season programme and start the preparations for the crucial Champions League qualifiers. There will be THREE draws happening this week as Moravcik67 has explained – see HERE.

Not all of the players are back today, those involved in the Euro Qualifiers last week – Callum McGregor, James Forrest, Scott Bain and Kristoffer Ajer – are getting an extra week. And it will be next week before we’ll know if Mikael Lustig, who started in both Euro matches for Sweden, will be back at Lennoxtown. Unless of course the club clarifies the position in the meantime.

It may already be all over though for Lustig at Celtic with the Daily Record now reporting that he is on the brink of a shock move to KAA Gent. Lustig, they state, is due in Belgium today for a medical with a deal on the table from the Europa League qualifiers.

French midfielder Olivier Ntcham is also absent, he is involved in the Under 21 tournament in Italy at the moment and yesterday added to the speculation that he is about to join Marseille by talking up the move.

With Motherwell midfielder David Turnbull likely to be a Celtic player shortly, Peter Lawwell will see it as good business to sell Ntcham, who clearly isn’t that happy playing in Scotland, provided the price is right.

Neil Lennon is looking at adding three or four new players to refresh the squad which has seen a number of players leave, either through their contracts expiring or loan deals ending. One of these Oli Burke could have a future at Celtic provided the price is right.

‘Anyone new?’ asked a supporter. ‘New cleaner, and possibly a different security guard,’ was the reply.
