If Lustig’s leaving that’s ten empty lockers at Lennoxtown

CELTIC players reported back to Lennoxtown today. Scotty Sinclair was one of the first players to have his fitness levels monitored – who said Neil Lennon doesn’t do sports science?

Calvin Miller is back from his loan spell at Ayr Utd and he’ll be hoping to make an impact after signing his contract extension before going out on loan.

And Bayo, who has been out injured after rupturing his hamstring on international duty shortly after arriving at Celtic, is getting ready to begin his own Celtic story…

Looking around Lennoxtown’s gym while watching these videos, things still look rather quiet. Yes some players – the ones who have been playing in the Euro Qualifiers over the past few weeks – have all been given some extra and well deserved time off.

And it looks like Mikael Lustig is not coming back, with the Record reporting that he is travelling to Belgium today to have a medical with Europa League qualifiers KAA Gent. His photograph can therefore be added to this gallery below of the players who have left Celtic since the season ended. We can also add Timo Weah too, he left just before the season ended after Neil Lennon sent him packing after he refused to come back from the Under 20s World Cup to participate in the Scottish Cup Final.

No wonder Lennoxtown looks quieter than usual, there’s ten empty lockers up there at the moment.

Here’s some reaction to the news that Lustig looks likely to be leaving…
