Bhoys’ interested in free-scoring Scandinavian Striker

Celtic are in a mass bidding war for prolific Danish striker Kasper Junker, according to TeamTalk.

Junker has been on fire for Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in the Eliteserien this season, scoring 27 league goals in just 25 league games – resulting in a goal every 74 minutes for the Dane – with fifteen of those coming in just his last nine appearances.

Bodo/Glimt have absolutely shattered records in the Eliteserien this season, boasting not only the highest points total there has ever been, but they also have the most wins in a season on record in Norway, and have won every single home game they have played in the league under manager Kjetil Knutsen. Junker has been the spearhead of the record-breaking attack – who came within one game of qualifying for the Europa League, but lost 3-2 at the hands of AC Milan – and his unbelievable exploits infront of goal has perked the interest of many British sides, alongside the illustrious Hoops’ – and clubs would be foolish not to take a punt on Junker.

West Brom and Crystal Palace are reportedly the sides who can offer him a Premier League route, whilst Derby County, Middlesbrough, Bristol City and Swansea City are reportedly among those interested in the Championship, where he may make more of a case to start.

However, Celtic may appear to be the most interesting move, given their annual involvement in European competitions and genuine chances of winning silverware – something the English sides will be hard-pressed to offer.

There is also the attraction of many Scandinavian talents finding their home at Celtic before either moving on to pastures new or becoming fan favourites at Paradise. Kristoffer Ajer is the most notable of the current squad of stars, with Celtic signing him from Start for just £650,000 back in June 2016. Other successes from the Nordic region include the police-hat stealing Mikael Lustig, the skilful Stefan Johansen, and of course, Henrik Larsson.

With Celtic in need of a goalscoring threat, this could be one to keep an eye on, and one where Junker could severely boost his career.
