Blue Monday – Unique Angle, Kyogo and the Bears with sad faces

Just the one goal from Celtic TV on their Unique Angle this morning, the first time we’ve had one for three weeks but it has to be said it’s well worth waiting for. The finish from Kyogo is world-class, a delighted Callum McGregor later in the day remarked that the Japanese striker is the best he’s ever seen , and the Celtic players’ celebrations are of course a delight to see.

“I don’t know what to say anymore! I said to him in the dressing room, I think he’s the best I’ve ever seen. He’s so alive and in the big moments, he’s ice cold. The finish, you see it for yourselves, he’s actually leaning back on it and stretching and he still puts it on target. I lose words to describe how good he is and how important he is for this group but again he showed his worth and more today,”  Callum McGregor told Celtic TV when talking about Kyogo at Ibrox yesterday afternoon after Celtic’ 1-0 win.

Don’t know about you, but the best bit on today’s Unique Angle is watching the theRangers supporters in the background looking on as Celtic’s smiling skelper scores the opening goal of the game to put Celtic ahead and as it turned out win the three points for Brendan Rodgers.

Incidentally if you think back to that pre-season friends against Wolves in Dublin, Brendan Rodgers tried out a different tactical system that day to sit a bit deeper and get behind them on the counter attack and we had loads of chances to score as a result. At the time we reckoned it was with Ibrox and the Champions League in mind.

Yesterday it was executed to perfection with a team packed full of fringe players. If they couldn’t beat that Celtic side what chance do they have when we have everyone back?

So Kyogo’s wonderful volley leave us four points clear of theRangers and at the top of the league looking down on…Motherwell and St Mirren. It’s a Blue Monday right enough.
