Brendanball delivers a monumental Celtic victory at Ibrox

Brendanball has finally turned up. When we are at full strength it will be very interesting indeed…

Yesterday’s victory at Ibrox won’t be the best performance we’ll see from Celtic this season, but it was certainly the best under the leadership of Brendan Rodgers second time around.

The fact that we were given next to no chance yesterday and understandably so given our injury crisis and our recent poor form, it was a monumental victory. On that of course was predicted by The Celtic Star writers who fronted up to give their pre-matches thoughts and scoreline predictions.

Victory for the home side would have given them a boost and they would have declared themselves word beaters and we would have been in a dire situation, or that would have been the ridiculous narrative given we’d have only been one point behind with two home games against them still to come.

It just proves how quick things can change in football and we’ve got to heed that warning ourselves, but after the way we won at Ibrox yesterday I think we are in a very good position. The players looked comfortable yesterday. The swagger was back and there looked to be an understanding between the players, something that was evidently missing the past few games.

Brendan is a quality manager and proved so yesterday. He took us into a hostile environment with a patched up underperforming side and came away with the three points, and he did it in style.

Forget about the crying from the home side, yes they spurned chances and were frustrated by VAR, correctly it must be said. Despite their wastefulness in front of goal, we should have scored more than the one goal. We spurned an unbelievable amount of chances. Mick Beale and co were lucky it was only a one goal defeat.

When you think that we were without the likes of CCV, Maik Nawrocki, Stephen Welsh, Reo Hatate, and we’ve still to see new boys Marco Tilio, Luis Palma, Paulo Bernardo and Nat Phillips in action it bodes well for the future.

Brendan is just getting started. It will be interesting when we are at full strength and at flying.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy
