Bolingoli looks for Turkish move as Celtic plan to reinvest

Turkish side Altay SK are set to make a move for Celtic’s Boli Bolingoli as the Belgian looks to seal a move away from Paradise. The 25-year-old has two years remaining on his deal at Celtic but appears that  both parties are looking for a parting of the ways.

According to The Scottish Sun, Bolingoli is a target for the recently promoted side as they look to heavily invest ahead of the new season. Celtic will be hoping to recoup a transfer fee for the full-back with a huge rebuild ahead of new boss Ange Postecoglou.

The player signed from Rapid Vienna in the Summer of 2019 for £2.5m. The player was offloaded on-loan to Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir after breaking COVID-19 rules in Scotland. Bolingoli decided to go to Spain for one night and failed to quarantine when he returned. Greg Taylor was joined by AC Milan’s Diego Laxalt but it was evident that neither were good enough to hold down a starting place last season.

Celtic have been unable to replace Kieran Tierney since he left the club. Bolingoli was supposed to be replacement but Jonny Hayes, Greg Taylor and Diego Laxalt have all featured in the role but no-one has managed to hold down the jersey. The club have been linked with Josh Doig and Aaron Hickey but will likely need to sign a first team ready left-back ahead of the European opener vs FC Midtjylland.

Celtic will need to reinvest in a number of key positions, especially in defence with a few positions needed. Jack Hendry departing with Bolingoli, Ajer and Edouard all anticipated to depart, Postecoglou could have a war chest to reinvest ahead of the new campaign. The spending needs to be calculated but committed with players that can either improve the first team on arrival or grow into being established first teamers the only two brackets that Celtic should consider.

  1. Any player at Celtic who wants to go and the club can get the fee they are looking for should be drove to the airport asap, and I mean every one of them.
