Bournemouth look to hijack Celtic transfer targets

Bournemouth are looking to hijack Celtic’s moves for Preston North End duo Ben Pearson and Ben Davies. Journalist Pete O’Rourke said that The Cherries were hoping to swoop and sign the duo this transfer window, meaning Celtic would miss out on two more pre-contract targets.

Davies is a left-sided central defender, something the club have been missing in recent seasons. At 25, Davies has played 144 times for the Lancashire club and scoring twice. His strong performances have resulted in him being linked with a move to the Premier League as well as Championship challenger.

Celtic have been linked with Davies for some time but it appears unclear whether they have offered him any terms as they are able to do so. Sheffield United and Rangers have both been linked but a move to Glasgow’s East End may be an exciting possibility to win silverware and potentially play in Europe.

Last month, the club were believed to have made contact with central midfielder Pearson about bringing him in on a pre-season. Pearson has made 165 appearances with PNE, scoring twice and assisting five times.

Celtic haven’t taken any action as they plan on a big summer overhaul. Although, it appears that Celtic are losing valuable time as they continue to twiddle their thumbs instead of making decisions. The outcome of the January Review appears inevitable but the club are dragging their heels when they should be planning for next season but incomings and outgoings.
