Portuguese side Braga are interested in a deal for Manchester City’s Yan Couto. The 19-year-old Brazilian was in attendance at Celtic Park for the win against FK Jablonec on Thursday and it appeared that a deal would be forthcoming; however, the player appears to have hesitated in agreeing to come to Glasgow. Celtic should turn their attentions to sealing a deal for Croatian Internationalist Josip Juranovic.
Sky Sports are reporting that Braga want to offer the youngster, who spent last season on loan at Girona, the opportunity to play first-team football. A deal for Couto would only make sense if it was a two-year deal to give the player time to properly settle in and progress as a player. With Cancelo and Walker ahead of him at City, it is highly unlikely that Pep Guardiola will see him as a first-team option for a couple of seasons at least.
Celtic have been in negotiations with Legia Warsaw over a deal for Juranovic in a deal worth between €3-5m but talks appeared to stall as the clubs were apart in their estimations of the Croatian full-back. Juranovic started his career as a midfielder, which may make him perfect for the role that Ange Postecoglou envisages. The deal is still said to be live with both sides still in discussions, even if they are apart in the valuation of the player.
