Brand Finance Report – Celtic’s financial muscle clear for all to see

A recent report by Brand Finance has revealed Celtic to be in the top 50 of football clubs in the world when it comes to brand recognition with a valuation of £90.6 million.

47th place in fact, and while that looks like a long way out, it’s quite impressive when you think of the financial landscape we operate in.

We were named ahead of teams such as Union Berlin, Valencia, and Porto and one of only 18 sides form the UK, and not surprisingly the only club from Scotland. That’s impressive indeed, considering those sides operate in more glamours and financially rewarding leagues than ourselves, so it makes for impressive reading indeed.

Man City are not surprisingly number one with a mammoth £1.2 Billion valuation. Leicester city, the side in 27th place had a valuation of £144 million despite being relegated from the English premier league, summarising the financial power in England via significantly greater television revenues that the Scottish Premiership.

Even still, as well as being a force on the park Celtic is also a force off it. We are in a good financial position and that reflects the good work that the guys behind the scenes do. It shows that the strategy we are following is working. Long may it continue.

About Author

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.
