Brendan Rodgers just can’t forget Celtic as Leicester now linked with £30m move for star

You would think that Leicester City have enough money to establish a fantastic scouting department, but it seems that the only transfer links are with Celtic players.

Perhaps it’s just an easy link to make when transfer stories are running in short supply, but it really looks like Brendan Rodgers still has an obsession with a lot of his former players.

Kristoffer Ajer, Callum McGregor and James Forrest have all been heavily linked at some point, but now it seems to be Odsonne Edouard’s turn.

According to a report from Leicester Mercury, Rodgers is looking to sign the Frenchman, and admitted in January that he would be prepared to wait until the Summer to land his man.

The report also suggests he’s valued at around £30m, but who knows if the current situation and possible knock on effect on club’s finances could change that.

They also state that Arsenal are heavily interested in signing him, so it would be interesting to see where he would want to go if given the choice.

Rodgers has done a good job at Leicester, but there were signs of a serious slide before play was suspended, so you have to wonder if history is repeating its self again.

It happened at Swansea, Liverpool and even Celtic – he has an incredible first season and a half before things go wrong, he struggles to adapt tactically and can’t lift the players once their heads drop.

One win in their last five league games meant a slide out of the top four became very possible, while Arsenal are still a team in transition with a new manager as well.

It just shows why Eddy should stay in Glasgow for at least one more year – he can continue to develop and figure out the trajectory of certain teams before committing to a move.
