Celtic are eyeing a surprise move for former Celt Ross Doohan, according to a report in The Herald…

The Aberdeen keeper is set to become a free agent this summer and is being considered for a potential move back to Celtic Park. This season, Doohan has been a dependable deputy to the regularly injured Dimitar Mitov at Pittodrie, featuring in 18 matches across all competitions.
Doohan began his career at Celtic
The 27-year-old arrived at Aberdeen from Forest Green Rovers in 2023, having previously had stints with Tranmere Rovers, Dundee United, Ross County, and Ayr. Doohan began his career at Celtic, featuring multiple times for their youth teams but never making a senior appearance.

Scott Bain may look to move on this summer
Doohan was part of Brendan Rodgers’ side during the manager’s initial tenure at Celtic and could now make a surprising return to the east end of Glasgow this summer. With Scott Bain’s contract set to expire in a year, he may look to move on in pursuit of regular game time following the Scottish Cup final later this month.
Celtic boast strong depth in the goalkeeping department, with Rodgers able to call on options like the experienced Kasper Schmeichel and impressive stand-in Viljami Sinisalo.

Viljami Sinisalo looks set to be Celtic No1 in the longer term
The Finn performed well in Sunday’s Glasgow Derby outing against theRangers: “I enjoyed it,” he said post-match. “It’s a shame we couldn’t get the result we wanted, but obviously, we wanted to come here and win.”
“We had that chance late on to go and nick it, but sometimes football goes that way, and you end up with a draw. I loved it. Every footballer wants to play in these games, so I enjoyed every minute of it.”
“There are different games where you’ve got to be really clean with your passing, and there might not be as many saves. Every game is a bit different. “I’m just trying to do my best to show that I can do the different sides of that. Hopefully, I can keep doing that for the foreseeable.”
