Brendan Rodgers provides Liel Abada update amidst exit rumours

Brendan Rodgers has provided an update on the Liel Abada situation at Celtic. The attacker has been absent from matchday squads since the win at Easter Road due to personal reasons. The Israeli winger is struggling with the fierce criticism from his countrymen due to remaining at Celtic, a club that’s support have ties to Palestine.

Speaking at Tuesday’s media conference, Rodgers was asked about whether there was any progress on Abada’s situation, with MLS clubs linked with his signature on a loan deal.

“No. No update on that. He is still in the same situation, it’s difficult for him.

“But yeah, we will see if there’s resolution to that.”

Rodgers then dismissed speculation that Abada would be willing to rip up his contract in order to engineer a move from Paradise.

“I haven’t heard that, no.”

Since arriving in the summer of 2021, Abada has been an excellent acquisition by Celtic and now, it looks as if we have the perfect manager in charge to deal with the current issue. The Celtic manager dealt with the player in the best possible manner by getting an arm around him and convincing him that he will not face a backlash from fans over his nationality.

Abada is due back in December after sustaining an injury whilst on international duty back in September. The winger required to get surgery and is working his way back through his rehabilitation still.

In 106 appearances, Abada has assisted 21 times while netting on 29 occasions. The numbers are spectacular for a player of his age and there is a feeling that the player can go further under the coaching of Rodgers.

  1. Abada can go further under Rodger’s coaching why? Every other player in the team has gone backwards under BR.
