Brendan Rodgers – The right man to replace Ange Postecoglou

Brendan the right man to replace Ange in more ways than one…

Replacing Ange Postecoglou was always going to be a hard task. Men of his quality and knowledge of the game aren’t easy to come by, so by enticing back Brendan Rodgers we’ve got ourselves a like for like replacement.

Brendan like Ange plays the game the right way, maybe not with the same intensity, but his style of football is what we want to see, they both play the Glasgow Celtic way.

Along with being winners, the most important thing that they both possess is their man management skills. Ange was top notch at that, and so is Brendan.

Brendan as he know is a smooth talker and his players love him, they play for him. He makes players better. We witnessed that in his last spell. He brought Kieran Tierney’s game to a new level. He revolutionised Callum McGregor.

He brought a 31 year old Scott Browns game to greater heights, Stuart Armstrong improved ten fold, Moussa Dembele became a star. They all had talent but under Brendan’s guidance they became better players. He also gave Anthony Ralston and Mikey Johnston their chance in the first team.

That guidance will be vital when he gets down to work with his new players, not just in improving them, but by putting an arm around them and reassuring them that the place will be just as good to be around as it was when Ange was here. He will foster a great team spirit.

Not only will he try to improve them he will make them happy to be at Celtic, and being settled and enjoying yourself is a big part of succeeding in football. Talent will get you far, but you have to love what you’re doing and Brendan will see them okay in that aspect. Of that I have no doubt.

One more sleep…

About Author

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.
