Brilliant day for our Japanese Bhoys

It has been a brilliant day for our Japanese Bhoys, now it’s time for them to continue their good form at club level, starting on Sunday…

It was a very good day indeed for our Japanese Bhoys, Reo Hatate and Kyogo as both played from the start in the 2-0 win over Tunisia this afternoon.

Particularly for our talismanic striker Kyogo who scored the opening goal in his 45 minute appearance with a typical finish at the home of his former club Vissel Kobe. Assisted by none other than Reo himself who played for 63 minutes.

Kyogo like Reo has found a regular first team spot hard to come by on the international front, which shows you just how talented this Japanese squad is. Hopefully after today’s result and performance the two Celts have the opportunity to play from the start more regularly.

Yes you could say it’s somewhat of a hindrance to the club as they rack up the air miles representing Japan, particularly with the Asia Cup just around the corner. But the bigger picture is that it’s good for Celtic to have players playing at the highest level possible and for the players themselves it’s a great honour to represent their country. It would be wrong to wish them nothing less than success with their nation. They deserve it.

The international break is now over for Reo Hatate and Kyogo, and hopefully they’ve not picked up any niggling injuries as they head back to Scotland.

Kyogo came off at the interval, but he looked ok and sharp throughout his time on the field so we can only assume it was tactical. Now it’s time for both to come back and continue their good form at club level. Starting on Sunday at Tynecastle in what is the first of three huge games inside a week for Brendan Rodgers and his Celtic side.

My colleague Yatao will be providing more insight into today’s match in Japan later this afternoon exclusively on The Celtic Star, so look out of for that.

  1. The international break is now over for Reo Hatate and Kyogo, and hopefully they’ve not picked up any niggling injuries as they head back to Scotland, where they can be virtually assaulted at Tynecastle on Sunday in preparation for Madrid on Wednesday .
