“Brilliant Pundit,” says Celtic TV’s “Breath of Fresh Air” Connie McLaughlin – “He sees things in a game I hadn’t even noticed”

Celtic TV certainly seemed to have listened to the criticism coming their way a few weeks ago concerning their line-up of presenters and pundits. The unpopular Peter Martin has been removed from commentary duties with Gerry McCulloch moving into that role leaving room for Connie McLaughlin to host the pundits, and The Heid has been removed and replaced by The Beard and The Bunnet!

Last night  we had the bearded Gordon Strachan and the bunnetted Toch McKinlay and  both were informative, interesting and entertaining – in what they were saying and how they looked!

Strachan talking about Paul McStay’s ‘arrival’ up at Pittodrie and noting just how good a side the Celtic had at that time. He as probably too modest to note that the Aberdeen team beaten 3-1 that day on their own patch by an exciting Celtic side was pretty special too! He even slaughtered ‘Big McLeish’ for rotten defending at one of the Celtic goals! Enjoyed that!

Connie herself is also a great new addition to the Celtic TV team Pass to Paradise team, and she got in on the ‘fancy dress’ act by changing her coat at half-time to something warmer. Oh how we’ve all missed the winter chill at Paradise, when the wind swirls in a particular direction around the stadium and you feel like you’re sitting in the Artic Circle.

“What a pleasure watching last night’s game with Gordon Strachan, he sees things in a game I hadn’t even noticed and explains them so well!,” Connie tweeted this morning. “Brilliant pundit! Great to have Tosh on too for a good bit of insight from a players perspective.”

“Would love to see you in there permanently, if you’d be interested of course! Breath of fresh air,” a Celtic fan responded. Another added: “Excellent yourself Connie, sign her up Celtic!”

And The President of Albania as usual watched the game on Celtic TV and added his usual post-match comments, showing David Turnbull’s winner to his twitter followers.

  1. Yes indeed. GS has probably annoyed me more than most people throughout his life, and I would have to admit that when he played for Aberdeen and when the Parkhead crowd that he would be better off in a bank “Gordon Strachan! You’re a Banker” , I joined in. I also had qualms about him as a Manager, but this were soon dispelled when he won 3 League titles in 4 seasons, two League Cups and a Scottish Cup plus some good performances in Europe, I changed my tune. And there is no doubt about it, he knows the game and can express his point of view brilliantly.
And well done to Tosh McKinlay and Connie McLaughlin as well!
