DEREK RAE has updated supporters about a former RB Leipzig boss after a Celtic supporter asked the broadcaster whether Ralf Rangnick would be interested in coming into manage Celtic.
Club legend Neil Lennon’s position seems untenable after a torrid run of two wins in ten games; however, Rae believes that the German would only be interested in a move to Glasgow if it was a project that he fully believed in and (most importantly) if he has it his way.
Rangnick is free now. But to get him, would have to be a project that really interests him & allows him to do things his way: emphasis on building from ground up with proper funding. Has been discussed in connection with his old club Schalke (no upside right now) & Germany NT. https://t.co/oMq6t0bi7U

Brendan Rodgers had autonomy over coaching staff and playing style around the club but the CEO decided to sign players on his behalf, much to the dismay of the manager. Rodgers subsequently left for Leicester City and Lennon was parachuted in but wasn’t allowed his own coaching staff.
It would be unlikely for Rangnick to come into Celtic at this stage but it is certainly worth asking if Lennon goes. Rangnick is associated with recruitment as well as attacking football which would definitely appeal to supporters but it is unlikely Rangnick would like to come if he is unsure what control he will have.
