And so the circus continues and I don’t mean the performances on the park. Today might have been a new low, which is debatable, but it was not unexpected and nothing more can be said or written about the shocking standard of football.
The circus I am referring to is the appalling lack of leadership. It was a brave decision to continue with the manager, albeit subject to a January review, when the results and performances were not acceptable. That is a euphemism, they were absolutely horrendous and inexcusable, given none of the coaching staff had a scooby doo what to do about it.
They still don’t other than play the same players in the same positions, with the same tactics and, not surprisingly, the same results.

Looking back, it is now obvious to all that, regrettably, it was the wrong decision not to act then. Hopefully, the decision makers will use their great power of hindsight to come to that conclusion and act now. It is just unfortunate they could not accept that the majority of the supporters had the foresight to conclude that the Board were ducking a decision which needed to be made. It was only a matter of time and that time is now.

The coaching staff and the majority of the players are culpable. So what can be done? Get rid of the players, the coaching staff or the whole lot?
That decision is way above my pay grade so we await a measured response from the outgoing CEO. I will offer him some advice though; you not only have to make a decision now but also a change. It would be a gross dereliction of duty should the current regime be allowed to continue a moment longer. The acid test; there is not one manager or coach in the SPL that could not get more out of our current squad, the best in the league allegedly.

It was a huge disappointment to lose Frimpong and that surely shines a light on what is going on. A 20 year old player didn’t think he could improve at the club. Sad but, at the moment, true.
Before posting this, I checked if anything had happened. Apparently not, so looks like it is going to the wire (midnight tomorrow). A bit like our approach to bringing new players in. Am I the only one who thinks that there is little point in bringing anyone in this transfer window under the current circumstances? Regardless of who they are, it would be sad to witness them regress too.
