Brondby are reportedly insisting on £13.5m for Matthias Kvistgaarden amid Celtic’s renewed interest. The Scottish Champions will likely sell Kyogo to Rennes over the weekend as well as re-signing Portuguese winger Jota.
Speaking at the media conference before today’s game with Dundee, Brendan confirmed that the club would want to sign another striker to replace Kyogo.
One name that has been linked heavily over the last eighteen months is Danish striker Kvistgaarden. The striker has been on Celtic’s radar for some time but the club are said to have reignited their interest in the attacker this month.
As reported by Record Sport, Brondby want around £13.5m for the player as Eintracht Frankfurt also consider making a move for the player. This is a high outlay for Celtic, but the club – who broke their transfer record to bring Arne Engels in during the summer – have shown the club’s ambition.
Kvistgaarden has made 110 appearances for Brondby and has become more potent in front of goal. From his return of 38 goals and 17 assists, Kvistgaarden scored 14 of these, with 5 assists, in his last 22 games.
Celtic are set to sign Jota on a permanent deal as the Portuguese winger looks set to re-sign this weekend. The 25-year-old was expected to travel to Glasgow to complete his transfer from Rennes.

£13.5M for a young striker from the Danish league? Aye, right! Celtic will look elsewhere and let some other mug pay that kind of ridiculous sum.
We have the money and his track record is good. We must pay it. We can’t finished the season without a quality replacement for Kyogo.
