Celtic have held talks with Aston Villa over the possible signing of Louie Barry, according to Sky Sports…

The Scottish Champions have been busy at work in the past few days trying to tweak the squad to Brendan Rodgers’ satisfaction and have earmarked the Aston Villa ace as one who would meet his requirements this month.

The last 24 hours or so has been fraught in Celtic cyberspace, with talismanic striker Kyogo Furuhashi set to depart the club for pastures new in a £8.5 million deal to Stade Rennais in France. The Brittany club’s boss, Jorge Sampaoli, revealed that he expected movement on the Japanese striker imminently and that he could be involved this weekend in the team’s clash with AS Monaco.

Superstar from Portugal
Likewise, our former superstar from Portugal, Jota, is set to head in the opposite direction and make a remarkable comeback to the club he left not but 18 months ago in a money-spinning £27 million deal. The Hoops are set to sign the wide-man back once again for a fraction of that price. Multiple reports have stipulated that the Bhoys will pay around the same as they are getting for Kyogo to Rennes – essentially making it a swap deal in effect.
Barry prolific on loan to Stockport County

Meanwhile, Villa’s promising young attacker Barry, who has been quite prolific on loan to Stockport County, is being strongly courted by Celtic and the Scottish Premiership Champions remain locked in talks with his boyhood club over a deal to bring him up to Glasgow in before the closing of business in February.
Anthony Joseph has revealed that although Brendan Rodgers wants to bring the player up north to Paradise, Aston Villa are said to be very reluctant to sell him. The journalist claims that Villa would rather loan the youngster out to see how he develops along the road, with major interest in his services from several Championship clubs in England and abroad.
