Broony Boost, Forrest Fit, But Ntcham Misses out

Celtic captain, Scott Brown, trained with Celtic today and Neil Lennon confirmed that he will be fit to face FC Copenhagen tomorrow evening. Brown missed out on Sunday’s 3-1 win against Kilmarnock, having been substituted with a toe injury in Denmark last week. He was set to be a major doubt for the return leg, but the good news came through this afternoon, as Lennon spoke to The Scottish Sun.

The Celtic boss also confirmed that James Forrest will be fit to play against Copenhagen, which is excellent news for the Hoops given the winger’s goal scoring tally this season. Not so fortunate, is Olivier Ntcham, who misses out with a calf strain. Ntcham has enjoyed a good run in the side and famously scored the winning goal in Lazio. However, the midfielder will be watching on from the stands, along with Ryan Christie, who is suspended.

Speaking this afternoon, Lennon confirmed the injury status of the trio: “It’s going to be a big European night and hopefully it’ll be one to savour. We’ve got a big game ahead of us. James and Scott are both fit. Oli isn’t fit and will be out for another week. Having Scott and his experience is a confidence boost, and we know that Jamesy is a big game player. I’ve got a great backroom staff and the players have been fantastic. I’m delighted with the way things have gone. I’m really proud of the team, and every one of them has made a positive contribution this season.”
