Celtic 3 – 1 Hearts – Kyogo’s Magic Breaks Hearts

Kyogo Furuhashi played his part yet again after his exploits in recent weeks with the Hoops. The Japanese attacker helped down Heart of Midlothian at Parkhead last night as Celtic took a another step towards retaining the title. We suffered an early scare but recovered as we always do and imposed our game on the opposition.

He was everywhere once more this evening as he pressed the Hearts defence and midfield like a man possessed. Ange Postecoglou celebrated his star striker after the match and rightly so, as the service he has given us since he walked through the door at Lennoxtown has been nothing short of outstanding.

Kyogo’s movement is just too hot to handle for most teams in Scotland and they know the only way they can try and stop him is by fouling him. That’s what happened on several occasions during his time at Paradise tonight, and one particular off the ball challenge by Hearts midfield, Rio, should have saw him booked and then off the park when his second offence took place. Such is the life of a Celtic player with Scottish officials.

Our little Japanese international scooped the Dafabet Man of the Match Award against Hearts too, to round off a wonderful evening in Glasgow’s East End for the man Ange Postecoglou made a prerequisite when taking over the reins as Celtic manager back in 2021. As voted for by the fans, the Bhoys’ number 8 was deserving winner.

He really doesn’t stop this bhoy and his form is looking quite ominous for everyone else around us in the country at present. With only ten games to go now in the cinch Premiership League, the forward looks as if he will keep blasting his way towards that League Crown on his own, such is his prowess up the top end of this Celtic team.

Tonight was another one consigned to the history books. Saturday brings the promise of more opportunities at Hampden. Kyogo Furuhashi will be essential if we are to continue on this wonderful journey with Ange Postecoglou as he looks to hit 100 more at Celtic Park.

About Author

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
