“Love how quickly they move the ball,” Alan Thompson on Celtic’s 3-1 win over Hearts

Celtic maintained their unbeaten run and also their nine-point gap at the top of the table looking down on theRangers with a comprehensive 3-1 win over Hearts at Celtic Park tonight. The Hoops came from behind just like Sunday afternoon at the SIMSA Stadium in Paisley to comfortably take the three points in the end up.

True to form, Hearts played well – as they usually always do against us home or away – and took an early lead through a wonderfully worked goal by Hearts on the counter-attack, with Josh Ginnelly putting the Gorgie side ahead of the Scottish Premiership Champions in what was quite a shock at the beginning of the match.

Celtic equalised through a fantastically worked goal of their own; Daizen Maeda finishing from close range following a sensational passage of play from the wing by Kyogo Furuhashi and Anthony Ralston. The linesman had flagged for offside unbelievably, with the VAR replay clearly showing Andy Halliday playing both Japanese players onside.

We took the lead eventually through another cracking goal from, you guessed it, Kyogo Furuhashi – taking him to 25 goals for the season and 20 in the cinch Premiership alone. It came from Aaron Mooy who was the orchestrator of the goal that put us 2-1 in front as his classy passing ability and vision opened Hearts right up.

Finally, Sead Haksabanovic wrapped up the game late on, as he shimmied and dribbled his way past the packed Heart of Midlothian defence to fire a ferocious shot into the net past Zander Clark who didn’t see it coming. It was comfortable in the end, but we never really got out of second gear in all honesty and still managed to take apart third place in the league.

Celtic legend, Alan Thompson has been reacting to the 3-1 victory which keeps us on course for that second consecutive Scottish Premiership in a row. He said via Twitter:

“Great win and good performance from all @CelticFC good to watch and love how quickly they move the ball.”

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
