Celtic agree fee for Jullien with Toulouse, more expected as summer window hots up

CHRISTOPHER JULLIEN was tonight in Paris meeting with his agent as his move to Celtic gets closer. His current club Toulouse has reached an agreement with Celtic on the transfer fee and they have given their powerful central defender permission to speak to Celtic to discuss personal terms.

The size of the transfer fee has not yet been revealed although it is expected to be in the region of £7million, as we reported earlier this week.

Celtic later this week should conclude the deal to bring in Luca Connell from cash-strapped Bolton for a fee of around £300,000.

Meanwhile the ongoing David Turnbull saga has taken another twist with the player hopeful that his transfer to Celtic will still go through despite an issue that has materialised at his medical. The £3.25m transfer fee will be safeguard Motherwell’s future and another Scottish Premiership side – this time Kilmarnock – could be in for a cash windfall as Celtic eye one or both of their Scotland international full-backs.

But if Turnbull’s medical problem can be sorted – and it does not appear to be a deal breaker – and if terms can be agreed with Jullien and his representatives then there could be two arrivals pretty soon with perhaps three more coming in shortly afterwards, and expect Kilmarnock to be involved.
