Turnbull Deal Hangs in the Balance after Medical

WORDS fail us! There appears to be an issue with David Turnbull’s medical which has just taken place down in Manchester and the move may be OFF! Sky and indeed other media sources are reporting that an ‘issue’ has been uncovered in the Motherwell teenager’s medical and now both clubs are in discussion to try to fin a solution.

If that’s not possible then the on-off-and-back-on-again move could be OFF!

On Thursday night Turnbull agreed to join Celtic after looking set to become a Norwich City player. However he opted instead for a move to Celtic – on much lower wages – in what would be a £3.25million move from Fir Park.

Turnbull met up with Neil Lennon on Friday but a problem with the scanning machine at Ross Hall Hospital in the Southside of Glasgow meant that alternative arrangements had to be made to conduct the medical in Manchester.

The player travelled down yesterday with a senior Celtic Physio and the tests were done today. The plan was for Turnbull to travel on to join up with the Celtic squad at the training camp in Austria subject to a successful medical.

Now though this problem could scupper the deal completely unless a compromise can be found that suits both Motherwell and Celtic.

Why is it never easy?

We’d just published this one as well…
