Celtic announce Season Ticket sell-out – home supports only at Glasgow Derbies

Brendan Rodgers and his Celtic team will not lack backing this season because as is usually the case the season tickets for Celtic Park have now officially sold out. There’s probably been a slight delay in the club announcing this as they would have been allowing time for any end of season discussions to take place with theRangers regarding ticket allocations for the Glasgow Derbies.

That has not materialised and after they where boosted by the dead rubber summer bragging rights trophy win at the end of the season, they will be thinking short term and wanting to pack Ibrox once again with their own fans to try to repeat the trick at the beginning of September to capitalise on their remarkably kind run of fixtures in the opening few months of the season.

So Celtic will have acted accordingly that that will mean selling more of the tickets over in that corner of the ground that hosts away fans – except for theRangers supporters who won’t be coming to Parkhead next season as things stand.

Celtic will NOT be accepting away tickets for the dangerous little corner at Ibrox which is the most that the Ibrox club will offer. Celtic are open to a compromise on their wish to return the allocations to traditional levels with the Celtic fans occupying the Broomloan Road stand at Ibrox and their fans getting the same number of seats in the Lisbon Lions stand at Celtic Park.

Even the European allocation at Ibrox would have worked as a satisfactory compromise but that’s not going to happen so it looks very likely that there will be no away fans at the Glasgow Derby matches in the new season.

Celtic confirmed today that season tickets have now completely sold out. A statement on the official club website provided the details…

The club is delighted to announce that Season Tickets for the 2023/24 campaign have now completely sold-out.

The incredible support of our fans once again ensures that Paradise will be full to capacity once again when the record-breaking, Treble-winning champions return to Celtic Park for the new season which gets underway in just over five weeks’ time.

We would like to thank every supporter who has bought a Season Ticket or Seasonal Hospitality Package as Brendan and the Bhoys look to build from a position of strength in the 2023/24 campaign.

With just five weeks to go until the Celts begin the defence of their Scottish Premiership title with the roar of a packed Paradise behind them, there’s also a return to European football’s top table with UEFA Champions League group stage football for us all to look forward to in the months ahead.

We look forward to welcoming you home to Celtic Park for another exciting season, and thank you once again for your continued support.
