VIDEO: Moffat scores to put Celtic B one-nil up at break vs East Kilbride

Celtic B have taken the upper hand in their first competitive home opener in the Lowland League, as they go into the break 1-0 up against local side East Kilbride at the Penny Cars Stadium.

The young side, managed by Tommy McIntyre, started off on the wrong foot last week in an agonising 2-1 loss to Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic, however their fortunes seen to be turning in Airdrie this afternoon.

Owen Moffat, a youngster who has been training with the first-team of recent, has put the youth side ahead on the stroke of half-time to further his claim to becoming a key player in the academy – with the potential of making the first team.

It’s a positive start – let’s hope things can improve further in the second half.

The team today is: Mullen; Jackson, Lawal, Otoo, Paterson, Murphy, Carse, Davidson, Wylie, Moffat, Vata.
