Celtic close to signing 15-year-old wonderkid ahead of Leicester City

Celtic are expected to bring in some new faces to Parkhead this January after their defeat at home at the hands of the Rangers last week. This was their first Derby defeat at home since 2010 and a bitter pill to swallow for the club’s fans.

According to reports in the Daily Record, the Hoops are close to securing their first signing of the January transfer window but it is not someone that most fans would have even heard of beforehand. Celtic appear to have beaten out the likes of Leicester City, Newcastle United, West Ham United and Southampton to the signing of Edinburgh boys club Hutchinson Vale’s 15-year-old winger, Bruno Davidson. They hope to have him sign a three-year contract this week.

Davidson is very highly rated and is surely one to watch out for in the future. But at this point of time, Celtic need players who can immediately come into the first-team and tilt the balance of the title race back in their favour. While signing players like Davidson is very important to secure the future of the club, hopefully the board has not forgotten about the present.

The players are currently in Dubai, where they will train during the winter break. The Bhoys return to action in mid-January when they take on Partick Thistle in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.
