Celtic Colts will face Annan Athletic at home in the first round of the SPFL Trust Trophy. The tie will be played on 10/11 August with the winners facing Greenock Morton in the second round of the competition at home That second round tie will be played on 4/5 September.

This return to competitive action for the Celtic Colts – the Academy side – will be most welcome indeed after the lack of football of any sort for many months during the Government enforced lockdown of the game outside the Premiership and Championship and the lack of fixtures when that ban was lifted. Hopefully this Colt situation will be to the advantage not just of Celtic and indeed theRangers but also the smaller clubs in Scotland, many of them having benefited from products of the Celtic Academy previously.
