Celtic confirms Ibrox ticket allocation for Glasgow Derby

Celtic this afternoon announced that tickets are now on sale to eligible Celtic season ticket holders for the Glasgow Derby match at Ibrox on 2 January. And the club confirmed that they have received a grand total of 708 tickets for this game.

The most recent group of away fans to visit Ibrox was Hibs last week and their fans complained afterwards about the disgraceful behaviour of the home support. We had a ticket for Ibrox last April and while the result was brilliant the Celtic support was subjected to all sorts of uncivilised behaviour – to put it mildly.

Of course this Derby used to see Celtic fans occupy the Broomloan stand and a corresponding number of tickets were given to their supporters visiting Celtic Park. That changed due to Celtic repeatedly winning at their place on the way to a Quadruple Treble, with all 12 consecutively won trophies happening while theRangers were in the top division.

And their only title win happened during a season when there were NO fans allowed so any perceived advantage relating to limiting the numbers of away fans – a decision that as 100% their decision and not one that Celtic agrees with.

Still the 708 tickets will get snapped up while the rest of us will be happy to cheer the Bhoys on watching on Sky Sports.
