Celtic could still be depleted for Aberdeen trip as three first team players unable to return

Celtic are a club who don’t really tolerate losing at all, so the idea of losing three games in a row would be verging on disaster.

In some ways you can make excuses for the losses to Milan and the Rangers due to injuries and both teams representing strong opposition, but Celtic will always expect to win their home games.

It means Lenny simply needs to go to Aberdeen and get a result on Sunday, so he will need all of his experienced players to be fit going into this one.

Unfortunately it looks like that won’t be the case, with a report from Glasgow Live confirming that at least three missing players still won’t be in the squad for Sunday.

Eddy is the headline name and is undoubtedly the biggest blow, while Nir Bitton and Hatem Abd Elhamed will still be missing which is also far from ideal.

It sounds like the squad for Sunday will be the same as last night, so hopefully we see some improved performances and a return to a normal formation that allows more balance throughout the side.

Aberdeen are in good form so this could be a tough game, but we’ve also seen that Derek McInnes tries to get clever when he plays bigger teams and it usually comes back to bite him.

Celtic have gone to Pittodrie and blown Aberdeen away on a few occasions in recent years so we need to hope for a repeat of that, but there won’t be any boost from returning players just now.
