Celtic cruise to Scottish Cup Final with 5-0 win

Celtic have cruised their way to a Scottish Cup Final after dismissing St Johnstone. Brendan Rodgers’ side will now face Aberdeen on the 24th May at Hampden, setting up a rematch of the 2017 Scottish Cup Final.

Brendan Rodgers named an unchanged team from the side that thrashed Kilmarnock last week as he looked to continue his unbeaten run at Hampden. Despite starting brightly, the holders were held for the first 30 minutes by the visitors from McDiarmid Park before a blistering 15 minutes from Brendan’s side settled the tie.

Callum McGregor, Daizen Maeda, Idah and Daizen made it 4-0 before the break, securing Celtic’s passage to the National Stadium. The second half saw St Johnstone move for damage limitation but Celtic still moved the ball crisply and with confidence.

There would only be one more goal in the second half with Jota scoring from an acute angle. It was a clever finish from the Superstar from Portugal as he reminded the manager what he is capable of.

Celtic will now go into the post-split fixtures looking to wrap up the title before setting their sights on the showpiece Final at the end of May.
