Rubin Kazan defender Carl Starfelt has been heavily linked with Celtic in the last three days, following the update given by the world’s most reliable transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano. Romano, who boasts 3.4 million followers on Twitter, posted a tweet on Tuesday evening claiming that Celtic had opened negotiations with the Russian side, and that personal terms had been initiated with Starfelt, too.
Celtic are in direct contact to negotiate personal terms with Swedish centre back Carl Starfelt as potential Ajer replacement. Opening bid set to be made to Rubin Kazan and talks now started. ⚪️🟢 #Celtic #RubinKazan

And those rumours have only intensified this morning, as Rubin Kazan got back to training following a two-day hiatus; with one absentee – Starfelt.

This has massively sparked speculation across Glasgow; with Kris Ajer set to leave the club, Starfelt seems a ready made replacement for the big Norwegian – and as such, Celtic”s hierarchy must be commended for their ability to act quickly upon their best players leaving the club.
Matt Ryan and Ben Davies for me a no go. Age, fees, and wages. Carter Williams and starfelt worth the money with experience too. Vuskovic possibly but hincapies a naw now we have Urhoghide in. Would certainly have a punt with the left wing freebie(forget his name)

Can you actually imagine if we got him, Starfelt, and Vuskovic. Go from the worst centre defence in years, to the best, in the space of about 3 months. https://t.co/ThqjSBk9sq
