Celtic draw Raith Rovers in Scottish Cup Fifth Round

Celtic have been drawn Raith Rovers in The Scottish Cup Fifth Round. The Championship outfit are doing well this season and will certainly provide a stern opponent, beating Banks O’ Dee in the Fourth Round.

The Hoops came out the draw first, so will play at home. Celtic beat the Kirkcaldy side earlier this season in the League Cup as Ange Postecoglou’s side made their way to the final, where they beat Hibs to lift the first piece of silverware.

The Celts took their place in the draw after earning their place in the hat for the next round. Goals from Giorgos Giakoumakis and Liel Abada were enough to see of the League One side, despite the late goal from Conor Sammon. The main thing was that the Hoops made their way into the next round.

The games will take place on the 12th and 13th of February 2022. Kick-off times and dates are subject to Premier Sports deciding which fixtures they want to cover but you’d imagine that the Celtic game wouldn’t be picked up by the broadcasters.

  1. A Nice club to draw at home as it will hopefully be a large crowd and give Raith a big boost financially. This is Turnbull Hutton’s club, God rest him. Turnbull was as honest an fair as they come. I would rather meet Raith in the final, but hey-ho.

  2. Turgid performance 2nd half! I am very concerned that our early season one touch play has all but deserted us and Ange’s mantra of ‘we keep going’ is merely words. Letting such a poor team give us a fright is shocking, not taking chances and taking our foot off the gas will bite us on the arse and it’s a terrible happy to get into! Can’t remember the last time we played a full 90 mins! Glad we’re through but that was not worth setting my Melbourne alarm for 4:30 am🤬
