Celtic defensive duo Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston will face off this evening on international duty. The Celtic first team stars will face off as Canada face the USA in the Third Place Playoff.
CCV was an unused sub as Maurico Pochettino’s side were stunned by Panama earlier this week while Johnston played in the 2-0 Canada defeat to Mexico.

The game has an added fierceness after President Trump’s insistence on tariffs and statements regarding Canada’s sovereignty. The Celtic duo are friends but both will be hoping to play their part in a win this evening.
AJ spoke about the match to One Soccer before the game, adding an awareness of the current geopolitical tension in North America.
“There is some extra needle to this one and some extra bragging rights as well going back to the club, so I’d like to have one up on [Carter Vickers].
“With everything that’s going on in the world, it’s something that has been on the agenda and our minds. We know the rivalry and what it means, but we also all know what the geopolitical situation is between our two countries.”
