Celtic could face competition from two other clubs in hunt to sign free-agent keeper

It’s starting to look like Fraser Forster won’t be coming back to Celtic Park next season, so it’s very important that the club make a swift decision to move on to other targets.

Fans may be split on the prospect of former St Mirren stopper Vaclav Hladky joining the club, but The Evening Times have reported that they are considering it.

They claim that Celtic would face competition from Legia Warsaw and Slavia Prague to sign him, but the Czech side would only be interested if their current number one moves on.

The main issue with Vladky is the prospect of replacing Forster with a St Mirren keeper might not satisfy some fans, but if you look past the name of the club there’s a lot to like about his game.

He’s a calm presence behind the defence who commands his area well, while he rarely makes mistakes with his handling or decision making either.

His kicking can be problematic and that would need to be worked on if Celtic want to play out from the back, but he would be a safe choice if they do try to sign him.

It still feels like Celtic are trying to evaluate their options before deciding who to approach, but it certainly sounds like Hladky is a serious target.
