Celtic Fans Collective – Out of patience with Brian ‘Unity’ Wilson

The Celtic Fans Collective published an open letter to Brian Wilson on 6 January, clearly outlining what they are seeking to achieve…

Brian Wilson responded to the Collective on 8 January, acknowledging the letter and echoing the call for unity. However, the interim Celtic Chairman did not propose a date or time to meet and discuss matters further.

The same day, the Collective replied with three proposed dates for this week and asked him to confirm. To date, no response has been received. In the absence of any engagement, the Collective consider this an outright decline.

Accordingly the Celtic Fans Collective has issued an overview this evening with the intention of
keeping supporters informed…

‘After the removal of Wilfried Nancy and Paul Tisdale and the reappointment of Martin O’Neill, interim Chair Brian Wilson asked supporters to unite and push the team through the second half of the season.

‘Despite the anger and calls for a boycott, we agreed unity was in Celtic’s best interests. We contacted Wilson to arrange a meeting, on the understanding that mediation would be needed to unite supporters.

‘That offer has been ignored. Instead, Wilson has used his time this week to attack the Scottish Government as tired and visionless in a national newspaper.

‘At the same time, Martin O’Neill has been left managing expectations while admitting there has been no proper planning for the January window. Once again, Celtic have been caught short and are desperately failing to recruit the players required for the title race. More than a year after selling our star striker, we still have not replaced him.

‘To use Brian Wilson’s language. the Celtic board is tired and visionless.

‘If Wilson wants unity, it requires action, accountability and reconciliation. Our manager must be supported in the transfer market, the Green Brigade must be brought back to the stadium to reinvigorate the matchday atmosphere, the fan media ban should be revoked and the interim Chair must be willing to engage with supporters to mend the disconnect that has grown this season. Only then will his calls for unity have any meaning.’

  1. Can any organisation be so ridiculously incompetent? I’m not so sure. Starting to go cuckoo thinking about it. Is there something more sinister? Is there something in the 5 way agreement? Is Desmond in the Epstein files? Something has got to come out in the wash. Surely they can’t just be so incompetent?

I’m not trying to be patronising, but with the exception of the Celtic Star, and possibly 1-2 others, I wouldn’t let any of these so called fan base media’s near the club. They’re the worst kind of hypocrite. Every time you click on their sites, your personal info goes out to more than a thousand “interested” or “essential” parties. They take the holier than thou high ground, whilst selling names & contact details of real supporters. This is who you can thank for all them tea time calls from around the world telling you there’s a problem with your bank account or a delivery. Absolute scum and should be closed down and held to account.

Fortunately, there are good & honest sites out there such as this one, who will bring you the stories we want to read, and do so by keeping their integrity in tack.

67HailHail, Celtic Blog, Celtic Video, are just a few. They’ve got so desperate to cash in on your details, the same people are opening multiple sites.

Don’t just keep them out. Name & shame the lot!!!
