Celtic Fans Set To Continue Protests Against Bernard Higgins

Over the last few weeks Celtic fans have conducted numerous protests against the potential appointment of Bernard Higgins to a security role at the club. Shareholders voiced their concerns at the recent AGM, the Green Brigade have displayed banners, thrown tennis balls on the pitch and staged a sit-in protest, the majority of the stadium stood and chanted against Higgins at the weekend; whilst an open letter opposing the possibility of Higgins’ being employed by the club was signed by 10 fan organisations, 13 fan media outlets, and 112 supporters clubs (dozens more have since endorsed the letter).

Those protests, encompassing vast swathes of the Celtic fan base, are set to continue when the Hoops take on Hearts tomorrow night. Indeed, Celtic Shared have revealed that supporters will be unveiling banners around the stadium and anyone willing is invited by them to partake.

Whatever your position on this matter, the issue is not going away and the strength of feeling among thousands of supporters is evident for all to see. It will be interesting to see how the club react.
