Celtic Fans v TalkSport Liars – here’s your Ofcom Broadcast Complaints Form

ONE of the things that used to bother me about Brendan Rodgers, and it was telling really, was the way he’d always be keen to appear on TalkSport despite their constant flow of negative Celtic drivel on the station.

Rodgers though was anxious to keep his profile high south of the border, ‘Look at me, Premier League Chairman, I’ve won a Treble’ was his agenda. That’s old news though.

TalkSport know that Celtic bashing is good for business. It’s the same formula that the MSM use in Scotland but as those guys have to live up here they are perhaps a little less obvious in their agenda – and that’s saying something.

But TalkSport have now crossed a line as a broadcaster and the Celtic support must act. So too must the club but they have never really shown much of an appetite to stand up for the Celtic support in the past, so we’ll probably have to do it ourselves.

Listen to these defamatory lies, which TalkSport allowed on the air. They should never have allowed this unsubstantiated claim, allegedly quoting from a newspaper article, on air. Of course it is complete nonsense, evil lies but TalkSport can always prove us wrong by providing details of the case in question.

If they can’t then they have defamed the entire Celtic support and by association our club. And it is dangerous broadcasting these sort of lies, particularly as there were THREE stabbings of Celtic Supporters at the weekend and knife crime is such a social problem these days, particularly in England.

So what can we do about it? Contact Celtic via John Paul Taylor, the Celtic FC SLO and let him know that this is unacceptable. That’s a start.

More importantly, Talk Sport have almost certainly  breached the Broadcasters code and OFCOM must now be inundated with complaints from Celtic Supporters – that’s you and me and all our friends and families.

Earlier in the week we were told by the Scottish MSM that the Celtic supporter who was stabbed at the weekend had passed away. It wasn’t true but his family members found out about their apparent loss via social media. How could a journalist get that one so badly wrong?

That was bad enough but this is on another level.

It’s time for YOU to do your bit. Fill in your Ofcom form then go onto social media and encourage others to do the same. Here’s why…

Please lodge a formal complaints with Ofcom using this FORM

It will take you two minutes to complete and submit.
