Celtic fightback – ‘Sickening chants directed at our players and supporters’ by the Rangers fans

CELTIC have at last shown some balls but hitting back at the disgraceful behaviour of the away support at the Glasgow Derby on 29 December. Celtic and our support have been defamed by an orchestrated campaign of exaggeration and fake news and incredibly after ignoring completely the ‘landmark’ incidents – the cut throat gesture, the blowing brains out antics and the reserve keeper running half the length of pitch to pass on a message to the Rangers keeper to fake an injury – the Scottish FA have seen fit to charge Ryan Christie and only Ryan Christie with an alleged offence that was missed by the referee Kevin Clancy.

“We are aware of a number of incidents from Sunday’s match including Celtic supporters being targeted with missiles from the away support, something which has unfortunately happened on numerous occasions previously.

“We are also aware of a number of other unsavoury incidents involving the away support, including sickening chants directed at our players and supporters.

“However, as we always do, Celtic will deal with these and all other incidents responsibly and in a dignified and professional manner and in a way which protects the greater good of the game,” the Celtic statement said, as reported by Scotsman.

Daily Record’s added to this, revealing that “Leigh Griffiths was targeted from the away end by chants about his mental health and several songs were sung about the Celtic Boys Club scandal.” Scotland’s Shame were in full force.

Celtic need to take action about THAT video. Who recorded it, it certainly looks like it has come from the Press Box in the main stand. Why are Celtic allowing these journalist access to our stadium to tell blatant lies about our support that has resulted in a worldwide story. Watch the video – it is FAKE news. There are no racist slurs in there at all, yet that bloke from ITN and others have told the world something entirely different and it is sinister in the extreme.

It appears to be orchestrated and when the truth eventually does emerge that there was no racist taunts of Morelos – that the Ibrox club are weaponising the player’s skin colour for their own perverse ends – only a tiny fraction of the people who read about ‘Celtic’s Racist Shame’ will get to know the truth.

Niall J wrote about this article, titled Celtic ‘Absolutely Astonished’ – Peter Lawwell and the concerted effort to create a siege mentality at Ibrox, on The Celtic Star last night, you may have missed it with the Hogmanay celebrations on-going but it is well worth a catch up and you can do that HERE.

Ryan Christie also went under the knife after suffering a mysterious injury in the controversial Derby defeat – and will presumably be out of action anyway, should the Scottish FA do their worst. Celtic plan to vigorously defend the player though.

There are some remarkable theories doing the rounds about this mysterious injury and maybe saying nothing more about is is an example of Celtic complying with their stated policy of dealing with these matters in “a dignified and professional manner and in a way which protects the greater good of the game.”

It will all come out in the wash.

Here’s the latest in the injury as reported by Daily Record.

“Obviously there were concerns after the Rangers game when Ryan was told he needed an operation. But the good news is it doesn’t look anywhere near as serious as some had feared.

“The expected time schedule for his recovery is somewhere between two and three weeks which is good news for Ryan, for Celtic and for Scotland.”

The transfer window has opened. Hopefully the events of the past few days will galvanise the Celtic board to show real intent and bring in the players that will help deliver 9 in a Row.
