Celtic’s Ibrox Clash Moved

The first Glasgow Derby of the season will kick-off at 12pm on Sunday 1 September at Ibrox as Celtic look to lay down an early season marker. Celtic’s trips to Ibrox and Motherwell have been moved due to TV requirements from both Sky and BT Sport.

The 8-in-a-row Champions will travel to North Lanarkshire to face Stephen Robinson’s side on Saturday 10 August with the game kicking off at 12pm, previously 3pm.

Celtic lost both matches at Ibrox last year so Neil Lennon will eye the chance put this right. The defeat in December brought the Rangers level on points with Celtic but behind on goal-difference, but the media proclaimed them as joint leaders.

By the second visit the league had already been won by Celtic who finished the league campaign nine points ahead of the club founded by Charles Green in 2012. They won the dead rubber but the match on 1 September will be an entirely different occasion and Celtic will be keen to get back to winning ways in Govania.

Before the two recent defeats Celtic had never lost at Ibrox against the Rangers.
