“Celtic give me a lot of freedom and they put a lot of trust in me,” Kyogo

Celtic Star Kyogo has been speaking about the instant impact he’s made at Celtic – scoring 13 goals in 16 starts since joining Ange Postecoglou’s side back in August – and the Japanese international striker puts it all down to the incredible support he’s been given by his teammates at Celtic.

Kyogo is currently in Muscat preparing for Japan’s World Cup qualifier against Oman and has taken the opportunity to talk about his first few eventful and hugely successful months as as a Celtic player.

In a report in Scottish Sun Kyogo states: “At Celtic, I have been playing as a striker and I am really enjoying it and I am scoring a lot of goals.

“But I have to give the credit to my teammates at Celtic because they create so many chances for me. I have developed a really good understanding with them and I know when they are going to pass to me.

“I feel comfortable and we are getting results. I think I’m in a position where I can show my characteristics and strengths. I am playing with confidence at the moment.

“Celtic give me a lot of freedom and they put a lot of trust in me. I don’t want to betray the trust they have given me. I play with a smile on my face there.

“I am obviously scored many more goals for Celtic than I have for Japan. I think you can explain that because I am usually playing in a different position for the national team.

“I know I need to score more goals for Japan though and it would be nice to start against Oman this week.”

Kyogo’s remarks about playing for Celtic are obviously meant for a Japanese audience and will of course do Ange Postecoglou’s chances of persuading some of Japan’s top stars to join him and Kyogo in Scotland no hard whatsoever.

Hopefully Kyogo gets a start and grabs a goal or two for Japan in this qualifier.
