Celtic have made approach for striker who has scored 17 goals this season

It is no secret that a striker is on top of Neil Lennon’s wish-list in the January transfer window with the club lacking depth up top. Edouard has been sensational as expected and is arguably the best player in Scotland at the moment. But Griffiths and Bayo have failed to provide any meaningful cover to the Frenchman, scoring a paltry 4 goals combined.

Thus, it is no surprise that the club has been linked with a number of strikers in the last few weeks as they search far and wide for a forward capable of leading the line in Edouard’s absence. And one name that has cropped up recently is that of La Havre striker, Tino Kadewere.

The Zimbabwean has been prolific this season, scoring 17 goals in 19 Ligue 2 appearances. And according to RMC Sport, Celtic have made a ‘concrete approach’ looking to sign the 24-year-old. But they have competition from clubs like Flamengo, Lyon, Marseilles and Al-Rayyan for Kadewere’s signature.

La Havre’s valuation of the striker though could put Celtic off. The French second division side are looking for a transfer fee in the range of €10 million for the striker. Obviously, it will be a massive risk to pay that amount for a player who has only had one good season in his career and the Hoops should turn their attention elsewhere if La Havre do not budge on their price for Kadewere.
