Former USA international and TV pundit Alexi Lalas has warned that Wilfried Nancy must quickly turn Celtic’s fortunes around if he is to avoid a premature departure from the club…

Speaking on Fox Sports, Lalas weighed in on the French coach’s troubled start in Glasgow, where his first two weeks in charge of the Hoops has produced four consecutive defeats.
Responding to a question from a Columbus Crew fan about Nancy’s early days at Celtic, the outspoken pundit delivered a blunt assessment of both the 48-year-old’s situation and the decision to hand him the job in December.

“Nancy may just be wrong for Celtic. But that’s on them,” he said via X. “They knew they were getting a romantic, and if they didn’t, then they’re inept. Celtic doesn’t care how you win, or any realities/challenges that may exist. You figure it out, or they’ll get someone who will.”

Defeats against Hearts, Roma, St Mirren and Dundee United have intensified scrutiny on Nancy’s position, with the 48 year-old enduring a disastrous start as Celtic manager following his appointment as Martin O’Neill’s successor.

Discontent among the travelling support was evident during Wednesday’s defeat at Tannadice, as audible calls were made for a change in the dugout and for O’Neill to return immediately.
Celtic will host Aberdeen at Celtic Park on Sunday afternoon, with the fixture taking place after theRangers’ visit to Hearts at Tynecastle earlier in the day.
Despite the growing speculation, Nancy remained in charge of first-team training on Thursday as preparations continued for the upcoming Premiership clash.
How many defeats is too many for CEO Michael Nicholson?

How many defeats is too many for CEO Michael Nicholson? It appears that the Celtic board are prepared to give Nancy the time required to fix the clear mess within the squad. However, if it is Paul Tisdale that is heading up the recruitment during next month’s window, you can forgive one for being sceptical about how this will unfold.
