CELTIC are keen to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Ryan Sessegnon on a loan deal. The 20-year-old joined Tottenham last year from Fulham in a deal worth £25m but Jose Mourinho may be willing to let him get game time – with the Scottish Champions mentioned as one of those clubs interested.
As reported by The Athletic, Sessegnon is attracting interest from a host of clubs but one of those clubs is Celtic. Although Mourinho is still undecided on what to do with the young English defender.
Bolingoli’s antics have meant that Greg Taylor is the only first team left back at the club after Jonny Hayes and Calvin Miller left in the summer. Sessegnon represents a player that the club would otherwise not afford but would fit perfectly into the side – doing on the left what Jeremie Frimpong does on the left.
Barry Douglas had been touted as a possible signing but with the option of competing in the Premier League, he may opt for a Leeds United stay. Celtic will no doubt have other targets in mind as most of the world knows that we are in the market for a new left back. The Scottish Champions also need to add another central defender and a right winger in the next few weeks.
