Celtic Face LASK in Crucial Champions League Play-Off First Leg

Celtic’s £40million Champions League play-off against LASK is here. Martin O’Neill’s side have scored 10 goals across their opening three domestic games and now face the Austrian champions for a place in the Champions League.

Celtic fell at this stage last year after a play-off defeat to Kairat Almaty. The club have spent £30million on new signings this summer as they seek a different outcome this time around.

Kick-Off Time and Venue

Celtic host LASK at Parkhead on Wednesday, August 19, with kick-off at 8pm. It is the first leg of a two-legged play-off.

Team News Concerns

O’Neill goes into the match without Arne Engels, who Celtic have lost to West Ham, and with Alistair Johnston sidelined by injury. Celtic are short in both positions heading into Wednesday’s match.

The squad’s new-look frontline features record signing Kasper Hogh and Colombian forward Camilo Duran. Read more about LASK’s preparations for the tie.
