Celtic legend speaks out over “sad” eventuality as star looks to seal summer exit

It’s likely that multiple players will move on from Celtic this summer, but it’s still not clear what the managerial situation will be.

It may be tempting to sell anyone who’s underperformed this year but that could cover the majority of the squad, so the club will need to figure out who has the ability to bounce back under a new regime if and when that happens.

Tom Rogic was expected to leave last summer although any interest fell through at the final stages, but a report from Football Insider has indicated that he plans to force his way out at the end of the season.

It would be a shame when you consider the player he’s been over recent years, but he has struggled to make an impact during this campaign and perhaps he feels he needs a fresh start at this point in his career.

The report also looked at some quotes from Frank McAvennie about Rogic leaving, and it’s clear he’s a big fan and he would prefer that he stuck around:

I would be sad to see him go because I am a big fan of Rogic.I think he is one of these players who never loses the ball. He can find a pass, he can score, as we saw last week, and he is strong. He is one who I love to watch.

Rogic is a big game player who has scored some big goals in his time at Celtic. He might be one of a few leaving in the summer. I have not seen any fans upset about the players who are reportedly set to leave though. I do not think many fans will be too disappointed to see him go.”

It’s also worth noting that David Turnbull has been one of the real successes of this season as he’s proven that he more than belongs at a club like Celtic, but it could be tough to get he and Rogic into the same team.

They are pretty similar in their playing style and they both lack pace so playing them together would put far too much pressure on the third midfielder, so it could even make sense to let Rogic go.

It would be a shame to see him leave and you would much rather than he stayed as part of the squad, but it does look like he could be off.

Sean Maloney with someone like John Collins would be a good option to take over the reins at CP. Im sorry but NL and John Kennedy dont seem to have a clue how to sort out our woeful defence A new broom is required throughout our great club
